This listing is for an ORIGINAL Vox Python guitar strap. It is in near mint condition and comes with the original packaging. I am the original owner. I bought it in about 1968 or 69 when I worked at Apex music in San Diego, a Vox fair trade dealer of Vox gear. I played with my brother in a local band (I really played badly) and I used this strap on special occasions. Probably less than 10 times. I also have the original plastic container it came with. The container is plastic, and has numerous cracks and hazing. I wouldn't try to place the strap back in the container thinking it might cause further damage. I was drafted into the US Army in September 1969 and never played guitar again and still haven't although I own currently about 45 guitars and basses. This means this strap has been in a footlocker for almost 48 years. Over the past 6 or 7 years I have seen 3 other vintage straps listed on E-Bay. Thiey are extremely rare. And what makes it that rare is that it come with the original packaging. Please read the following.I have had the good fortune to have come in contact with Martin Kelly. Martin is probably the foremost Vox expert in the world. He is the author of the forthcoming book on Vox guitars and the man quoted in The Beatles Gear book states. Here is a quote from him "This is only the 4th Python strap I've ever encountered intact with the original packaging and certainly the first to come up for sale in the last 3 years. Definitely an original US made strap and really nice original condition". Vox is Martin's real passion. Here is some more information from him. Martin told me there have only been 3 other Pythons in the original packaging listed in many years. "What you have there is rare." I would only add that Martin personally has 8 Python straps. Some brown and others black. Some UK made and others US made. Vox is truly his passion.I don't know what more I can add.
