F5 mandolin by David "Carlo" Catalfamo I built this in 2015 , but didn't put it up for sale , I was disappointed with it because the finish didn't turn out well and the top developed a hairline crack , before I even glued the back on . I was able to completely stabilize it prior to final assembly. It is not visible , but just want to let it be known, along with a drip mark on the side , see pics . There is no truss rod The neck is fortified with carbon fiber rod. This Mando sounds great , google carlocatalfamo and u can hear what it sounds like . Infamous mandolin player Sharon Gilchrist plays one of my F5's on the song Gold Rush.
