A good old antique german violin made circa 1880.Very attractive antique german violin made circa 1880. The top is made of two pieces of spruce, and shows narrow grain lines. The back is made of two parts of deeply flamed maple, the curl slightly descending from the center joint. The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood. The oil varnish, entirely original, is of a red-brown color on a golden ground, and has crackled with time to its center. A fine antique german violin !The violin is in a very good condition, with several repairs on top (nothing to sound post or bass bar). The violin has been revised and set-up, including rosewood and bone pegs, a rosewood tailpiece with bone fret, a rosewood chinrest, a new sound post, a Despiau bridge and Thomastik Dominant new strings set.On the inside back can be found a label of "Stradivarius 1720".The sound is mature, brilliant, powerful, responsive : a fine german concert violin that will allow you the most complete repertory!The violin is guaranteed 100% authentic and original.Dimensions are the following :LOB : 363 mm.Upper bouts : 171 mm.Middle bouts : 117 mm.Lower bouts : 211 mm.The instrument comes with a new rectangular case.
