Sometimes they come out more during the making of the gong. The Sound Creation Gongs are not made the same way as the Symphonic Gongs and Accent Gongs, where the front of the gong is scraped, etc. Sometimes through the process of hand hammering and heating, some speckles remain.  These markings are not signs of low quality or unintentional imperfection; they are indicative of the artisanal handmade process of Paiste Gong-making.
