Description Product Description This Gary Grainger bass features a mahogany body with a charcoal burst finish over a carved figure maple top. The maple neck is very smooth and natural feeling - it's not doused with gobs of finish. It features a rosewood fretboard with 24 frets and bird inlays. Electronically, this bass is really ahead of the pack. It has two Gary Grainger pickups that can be switched between active and passive settings using the push/pull volume knobs. The passive sounds are warm and rich, and the active preamp is very open and airy sounding with a natural, dynamic sound. For active mode, there are control knobs for bass, mid and treble EQ. In other words, you can get just about every hue of active and passive sound out of this bass. The crazy thing is that it doesn't cater to one sound more than any other - if this bass was only active or passive, it'd sound like it was built for just that.
