Maple Neck, Frets like new, 4 bolt neck (not the lighter weight 3 bolt) but its a re-issue of the 1978 Antigua Telecaster that at the time I was told was one of 600 from a reputable pro audio & instrument authorized fender retailer. The Japanese make good Fenders. Once in a while a little anomaly can present itself and or could be a design " feature " well I made the feature go away being that it was not perfectly in tune at all frets. SO many times I have recorded guitarists that will tell me that a particular guitar they are using seems to "go south" when they play it high versus low... and we know its all going to go out depending on the bending and heat... but I wanted this thing to be right.      Whats worse than anything? You get a guitar and its almost perfect but it just isn't perfect with intonation. Well this was the case and it was hard to tell , I honestly was just wondering if a tuning peg was sliding out but that wasn't what was up. The Antigua Reissue Was Made in a short run for the Telecasters and I am the original and only owner that put hundreds of additional dollars in just the setup to make sure it would have intonation bottom to the top .       Westwood Music (many of you know the legendary gentlemen that have operated in this shop) in LA did set this up ultimately using a machine that laser scanned it to find out where the trouble spot was....it was having trouble being "true" from the bottom to the top. This problem, is more usual than you might think on Tele's , even an exquisite Japanese one .  I was working for another legend at the time... so I had a relationship with these guys... and they really wanted to blow my mind because ...They said they could intonate any guitar no matter what because of the new technology... it took them a week to figure it out...  So what's the end of that story? The nut needed to be moved slightly, we're talking a millimeter(s). They, the professionals did this for me . Action? It plays like a dream. Friends of mine for years have said "if you ever want to sell that thing let me know " well , I just let them know, and they either have just bought a house or can't afford it . Well tough turkey . Because people , I cannot keep this guitar in a coffin anymore.  The frets have less than 2 hours of playing on them . I don't bend notes either, I strummed and arpeggiated chords... thats it. So you can't tell it's been played much either . I would submit that a normal guitar on the floor of a shop might have more playing on it normally.        The original "ashtray" bridge guard is there too . It's all 100% stock and was purchased for around $700 plus tax ($60) plus the hundreds in setup that literally usually is done only with the most prized pieces because of that analyzing machine etc  .      The guitar condition is like finding that used car thats like new... " the little old lady with a car in her garage" story. It is at the storage underground facility in Hollywood where I work (at a studio today) . The only cosmetic issues were actually on the guitar when I purchased it and was given maybe $50 off ... but who cares right ? It's where you can't see it anyway - underside lower hip tiny chip. Point is , you would be hard pressed to find a tele that's in this condition , issue, even if it is a limited reissue... and you will not have to really set it up...  Thats worth something. Can I guarantee that there's no adjusting? Well I opened it , tuned it, hit chords open and up at top and it sounded right to me. Been in the same temp setting which is between 60-75 degrees year round. Good news is that you'll never have to go through what I did to get it setup but all guitars have the possibility of needing adjusting.            What about the sound ? That's the best part. I am a sounds guy. I recorded this the way you are supposed to record guitars with a little amp, seriously nothing better than this thing through a simple blues jr or pro jr for recording. Live, you guys do what you want and go ahead and overpower it but for us studio rats, we go for control of the chaos and collect gold.              You might be the kind of person that wants to pop the cherry on it anyway as far as upgrading something? thats not me. It sounds great to me... but again, not being a " real guitar player" means I am also not the guy to spend hours changing things on it... I loved it from the first time I heard it, and it's why I'm not really 100% wanting to let it go...but lets face it, I can't "make it sound" like I want recorded anyway , I pay someone to sound good before pretending now, and therein lies the truth. For the few moments I did the rhythm tracks and lame picked arpeggios , I thought I was rocking .        These days connecting the artist with their instrument and capturing it for the track, this is what gets me going, because I love it when guitar guys have their own anyway... it was a time I was collecting instruments for a studio that never really ended up using them unless I wanted to , on that rare occasion.           So I'm happy to hold onto it another 10 years and ask twice or thrice as much ,  it could spike and I could be an idiot selling it now for what I put into it, sure I have seen them similar condition for $1k but this to me is a steal as its corrected and forever 1 of 600 and is locked away in time 15 years ago...not one of 10,000. So I figure sell it today to someone that could afford it today . It's not a stressful financial reason that I'm selling it , it's just GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) for other toys I would rather have in the studio at this time ... so goes the circle of life  .  Hard case included of course .  PS- these are technically understood as 2002-2004 for their production run but I seem to recall it being 2002 late that year if my memory serves , and it is of course the Q serial, I guarantee that it is a 100% authentic reissue Fender Antigua Telecaster.  Enjoy
