Yamaha Professional Flute YFL-63 (replaced by 621, then 774)- 1965 Yamaha began productions of wind instruments.- 1970 Nikkan, Japan - Wind Works manufacturing merged with Yamaha.- 1973 YFL-63 (closed hole, offset G) and YFL-61 (open hole, inline G) released as their 1st handmade flutes- Sold as Nikkan YFL-63 and Yamaha YFL-63, soon stopped selling under Nikkan Brand due less sales.- * No original stock headjoint- * INCLUDES Upgraded headjoint HAND CUT AND FINE TUNED SPECIFICALLY FOR FAST MOVEMENT AND SWITCHING FROM REED TO FLUTE ON THE FLY BY Flute Head Joint Maker CHRIS MCKENNA. Done with flute in hand, so it is perfectly tuned to this flute! (ext. $1500 job) for Winds101.- Solid sterling including the keys and mechanisms, with gold springs, Offset G, Closed Holes, French Pointed Arms, C-Foot- I purchased from Winds101 05/2014- Winds101.com / Chris McKenna took this flute, and re cut the Headjoint so it speeds along fast, fast articulation, even from note to note > (voiced perfectly), so you can just pick it up and blow from low to high. It spits out the notes, and the solid silver body > keeps the tone really nice and full.- Most Sax doublers want something like this, more substantial in their hands that they can switch from sax to flute on the fly. action is > very fast smooth and even- *Flute is tarnished due to left in open air environment, but coloring is beautiful w/character!- BOTTOM that connects to foots needs a little TLC...i have small tape to tighten...not major- Smooth Silky Sound!- Retail quality $5963.99 + Est $1500 for Hand Cut Head Joint
