On offer is my super rare collector - grade Les Paul Showcase Edition guitar.These were made in limited numbers and there is some issue as to whether 40 or 200 of each of the nine different models were made. In either case,an extremely rare piece! This is one of the nine models that I have owned from new.They were made in 1988 and,to the best of my knowledge, is a Custom Shop product,factory fitted with EMG humbuckers,an EMG special tone circuit(pictured), custom black hardware and custom paint work,along with special decal at rear of headstock.This is a truly magnificent and rare instrument which is seldom offered for sale. The official colour of this instrument is "metallic sunset"which ,as photos reveal ,is a beautiful and unusual deep coral pink/red,which contrasts elegantly with the factory hardware and EMG 's.The tone circuit(on the lower tone control) provides awesome sound variations ,and coupled with the EMG's,gives fantastic tone(see picture of pot cavity.). This guitar has never been gigged,and has seen only extremely light playing.The finish has developed some very fine hairline marks in places due to its age(dated 1988), very minor marks on the selector switch ring,again due to age(see photos)and a very small ding at the back.There is, as is common in Les Paul Customs,a gold plated jack plate.Please note,this is a full width Les Paul-not a" lite" version-and has the heavy body of the regular Les Paul,so is not weight-relieved.Pick-guard has been attached such that holes were not made on body! This is a truly spectacular guitar that I have kept in pristine condition.It comes with original brown case as pictured (with the red plastic still on lock),and with a copy of the Showcase label.Condition is immaculate considering it's 28 years since it was made ! All in all, a reluctant sale,but the time has come. Also,I will list some other high-end items soon,so keep a look out for these,as well as other musical gear.. Item will be carefully packed and sent express with signature and insurance.Please allow reasonable time as packing for this is quite a task and takes some effort and expense in my experience.
