Broadwood Antique Full Concert Grand Piano With A Polished Rosewood Case C.1864 A magnificent 8' 6" John Broadwood & Sons antique full concert grand piano made in London circa 1864, serial number 19645. Re-polished figured rosewood case in superb condition, heavily carved legs adorned with beautiful acanthus leaf decoration, ornate pedal lyre, slatted music desk, sliding filigree candle trays, straight strung, metal frame, 7 octaves, 85 note clean original keyboard, working order with a pleasing period tone, tuned, inspected and two new bass strings fitted November 2016. A matching piano stool can be purchased separately. A rare and beautifully preserved example by the illustrious English piano maker. Dimensions L 260cm x W 144cm  History Established in 1728, John Broadwood and Sons is the oldest and one of the most prestigious piano makers of all time. Their instruments have been enjoyed by famous composers and musicians such as Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart and Liszt.   Broadwood also holds the Royal Warrant for pianoforte making to Queen Elizabeth II and all predecessors since 1761.
