This is an original and very Rare 1958 USA Gibson EB-1. Gibson's first electric Bass model in 1953.
The neck and action are perfect and there are no issues anywhere. NO Broken Headstock ! It has the original banjo tuners, chocolate brown pickup ,all the original electronics, thumb rest and brown barrel knobs. There is quite a bit of super cool Lacquer checking in the original Gibson finish. This bass plays like a dream and sounds like nothing else. Unlike later Gibson bass models with a single humbucker pickup that sounded muddy, this one sounds rich and full.
There is virtually no fret wear, it has had flatwound strings for most of its life. Recent Professional set-up with half rounds. The neck is straight and the action is set up medium-low with no buzzes. It plays flawlessly. The original telescoping Rod endpin is missing,but the original screw- in strap button is included. It is Priced thousands of dollars less than any other similar original ones we could find for sale....There were only 426 EB-1’s produced between 1953 and 1958. The Bass will ship in a brand new Reissue Fitted Hardshell case. I will ship only to buyers in the continental United States. It will be professionally packed & Shipped by FedEx.
