His email footer reads "Celebrating 45 years of guitar making and repairing, 30 years with Martin Guitars!Clients; Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, Sting, Martin Taylor, Tommy Emmanuel, Martin Carthy, Martin Simpson, Robbie McIntosh, Douglas Adams, Wix, Band of Skulls, Steve Power" which is an indication of the quality of his work.Based on a small-bodied Martin this instrument (numbered 1088) was once the property of the great folk musician James Fagan and, while I can't find any pictures of him playing it, I have been in communication with him and he confirms this.Light and comfortable to play, it is powerful and resonant and brings out the best in an entirely average player like myself. I've fitted JJB transducer pickups (like K&K) which work really well, especially through a pre-amp like my L R Baggs Venue.Unfortunately, I don't really play it enough to justify keeping it but there is no rush and I will only let it go for the right price. Check out these couple of links to see the price his guitars sell for:I would much prefer collection from Winchester - safer for the instrument and you can try it out first, but I have an old case that is too big but, with plenty of packing, will serve as good protection if I have to send this by courier.
