Hello everybody   Listed here for auction is a supercool 1972 Fender Stratocaster in original finish custom color Black with the white undercoat. The guitar has about 1 million lacquer cracks all over the body, both front and back are heavily crazed. One long crack to the finish on rear of body, is not a wood crack, is a finish shrinkage crack only! Dints and dings in all the usual places. There are no extra holes in the body, and no extra routing under the scratchplate, it is all factory original finish. 3 fibre bottomed pickups with ink stamps I cant make out. They have staggered poles and all sound like they should. 3 way switch, you can still get the inbetween pickups honky tone by leaving halfway between positions. Pots dated 1377124 which is June 1971. Extra earth wires have been soldered to the pots at some time, most likely to try and cure some excess hum, which is inherent in single coil pickup guitars.  The maple neck has edge wear and chips in the finish. It has had an extra string tree added, which is what fender got around to doing later on. Decal and finish on the neck are also all original. Base of the neck has ink stamp 0903 1224 which means 09(Strat) 03(maple neck) 12(week) 2(year) 4(day of the week). There are two extra screw holes in the face of the neck heel, but they do not line up with a 4 bolt neck plate. I have no idea what for, send me your email address for extra pics if you need to see that, or anything specific.  Has some changed parts, the tuning machines look new to me and the knobs may be replacements as they are a different shade of plastic to the scratchplate.   Serial number on neck plate is 356157.   Plays and sounds great! Very smooth and slinky feeling.  This is nice vintage guitar, not a pristine museum piece by any means. If you are clever you may have noticed these early 70s guitars have appreciated in value considerably in the last couple of years.Certainly better than money in the bank.    Unlike the later 70s examples this guitar is NOT a heavy boat anchor around your neck!   Comes with the case seen in the pics, correct 1972 tail less logo case with no busted catches or hinges.   Email me with any questions, I'm never too busy to talk about guitars.   Go to sonicboomvintageguitars.com for more pics of this guitar !   Will send this anywhere in the world, I have no problem with overseas sales.
