Absolutely beautiful mandolin made by Joe Foley in October 2004. It has an extra large body, giving it more volume than standard size instruments. Great session mandolin. Tunes to GDAE. Great condition all round. The only blemish I can see is a small dent in the purfling on the treble bout. The ninth photo shows this. There is a small, light scratch on the back, almost invisible, see photo 10. You are looking at the small scratch in the centre of the photo (it really is very, very minor), what looks like a straight line higher up in the photo is not damage, just the light shining on the back of the instrument. This is an instrument for the connoisseur and would be ideal for a member of an Irish music band or session player. Joe Foley is probably the most sought-after stringed instrument makers in the British Isles.
To the best of my knowledge, the instrument is made of the following woods: top, spruce. Back and sides, cedar. Fretboard, ebony. Tuners are by Schaller.
Comes with fitted hard case made by Mike Mullen of Dublin. The £15 postage charge indicated here covers priority delivery and insurance to the UK and Republic of Ireland. I am willing to ship worldwide using eBay's international shipping service. The buyer is to pay any additional shipping charges if not in the UK or Ireland.
PLEASE NOTE - there is no buy it now price on this - please don't ask! If you are interested in this instrument, please bid in order to participate in the auction. If you have any questions about the instrument itself, please ask.
