Up for auction is my Stelling Bellflower Custom 5 string banjo. I have owned this banjo since new, I bought it in 1988-89 and it has been very well cared for and maintained.What makes it a custom model is the special curly maple wood Geoff used, he said that he only made two banjos from this chunk of wood, so quite unique, Stelling engraved (hand engraved during that period) flange, tension hoop and tailpiece along with abalone truss rod cover and thumbscrews. I have fitted spikes to 7 9 10 and 12th frets and a new 5th string nut was fitted a couple of years ago when it had its first fret dress. Also fitted with a moon bridge and original Bill Keith D tuners from the 80's. The original case was replaced many years ago with a very good TKL plush lined case to keep this in amazing condition. It has been played on over 100 country albums over the years and has an amazing tone and playability, I'd say one of the best you would ever have the pleasure of playing, loud, crisp and clean. Plays like new and sounds like the vintage instrument that it is.Sad to see it go but I just don't play as much as I used to and it should go to a worthy player.Genuine buyers only please, no tyre kickers or stupid offers, I am in no hurry, this would be the last banjo you would ever buy.Ignore the eBay postage, cost will be dependent on location as it will be packed extremely well for transport, local pickup welcome also.
