Upgrade Gibson PAF Humbuckers! Made In Japan!
This is really cool. You are looking at a Vintage 1980's Yamaha SA-2000 Semi-Hollow Body guitar. In Production from 1981 to 1989. These are very high quality guitars based on a Gibson 335. The SA series guitar has been called the "Super Axe, and the 335 Killer". It was made in Japan, and the workmanship is excellent. The frets show very little wear, the plating is in very good condition for being 30+ years old. The pickups have been upgraded to Gibson PAF Humbuckers. Because of this, the push/pull coil taps are not hooked up because PAF pickups are not designed to be split. The fingerboard is Ebony, with split block mother-of-pearl inlays. The nut is bone, and the tuning machines are excellent quality. The neck is mahogany, and I am pretty sure it is quarter sawn. The truss rod responds exactly as it should. This SA-2000 plays and sounds Great! It SCREAMS! A very comfortable playing guitar that is on par with any Gibson 335 for about half of the price. Excellent guitar for gigging. The former owner re-painted the back of the neck and back of the headstock. The person who owned it before him had removed the gloss finish off of the back of the neck. It did not "Feel" right to him. There was NOT any breaks or any damage. To make it look right he had to re-paint the back of the headstock. Unfortunately, he sanded off the serial number.
Cosmetics: Good Condition.  There are light scratches, small dings and dents on both sides of the body. Pickguard is missing. Normal wear and tear. Just signs of being played. Not abused or beat up in any way. Neck, Fretboard and Headstock in great shape.  Dripping with "Mojo" It is used. Not perfect. Look at the pictures closely. They will tell the story.
