Eastman F Style Mandolin - Model MD515 - Very Good Condition

Bear with me while I describe how I come to be selling this fine instrument. I play Irish traditional music and have long been dogged by the fact that in a big session (or even a small one) the sound of the mandolin can often be drowned out by the noisier fiddles and accordions and pipes. Hence I decided to buy myself a decent F style mando and two years ago got this Eastman MD515 from the Acoustic Music Company in Brighton. This is one LOUD mando. LOUD!! But... It just doesn't have the right sound for Irish music. Perfect for a bluegrass or swing setting. But the sound is more Dawg Grisman than Andy Irvine. So, I bit the bullet and shelled out *gulp* amounts of cash for a hand built A style which has the mellow, sustainful sound that I was looking for but which also packs sufficient punch to be heard in an Irish session. So my Eastman has been lurking in the wardrobe for a few months and although I'm sorry to part from it, it's not getting any use. Hence I'm offering it up for sale. A few things to point out. There are two patches of wear to the varnish on the soundboard (see pics) which is caused by normal wear and tear. They don't affect the sound in any way. There are a couple of small chips to the varnish towards the back of the instrument. Again just normal wear and tear. Nothing which affects the sound or structural integrity of the mando in any way. Mere cosmetic blips. This mando cost me north of £800 new, so the starting price is less than half its original cost. A bargain can be had. This is a serious mandolin, not some shoddy "beginner's" piece. I've copied the following from the web site of a store which sells the MD515.
