Jerry Jones Guitars was a Nashville guitar company from 1988 to 2011 that made high-quality reproductions of classic and/or rare Danelectro/Coral guitars, basses, and sitars from the late ‘50s and early ‘60s. Jerry Jones’ instruments were critically acclaimed, and most reviewers considered them to be superior in quality to the originals. They are substantially better sounding than the versions made by the current Danelectro (not related to the original company that closed in 1969), which are much less expensive guitars. Jerry Jones retired and closed his factory in 2011, and his instruments now are becoming very collectible. This is a reproduction of the Danelectro Long Horn Guitarlin (which debuted in 1958) made famous by legendary guitarist Link Wray. The originals frequently sell for at least $3k. The Guitarlin combines elements of both standard guitar and mandolin to produce an instrument with Longhorn looks and a full 3.5 octave range. Twang high! Jerry Jones’ 2 P-U model retailed for $1,200 new without a case. These are usually listed on Reverb and e-Bay for well over $1,000. Mine is bronze with white binding and it is in very good condition with no major scratches, scrapes, or dings—just minor stuff from regular use. I am offering mine for sale starting at slightly under a grand. I am the second owner, and the first owner was a Nashville guitarist.
