Up for bid is a classic archtop of untold style and beauty crafted during the best days of Epiphone history prior to being purchased by Gibson. During this time, the artisans from Epiphone hand built some of the nicest arch top guitars on the planet. This gorgeous creature shows minimal play-wear, original frets which have plenty of life and she is 100% ORIGINAL! I recently had some of the shrinking binding re-set and treated the pickgaurd flattening it back to almost new condition. The colored symbols on the push button presets have faded but there is a little life left in 3 of them. That's actually unusual as they are almost always completely gone. The heel cap has separated from the heel as it has shrunk but it has been re-attached. There is a little bit of patina on the finish but the finish is glorious with light scratches and nicks. There is one small spot or dollop under the pickgaurd where the finish has evaporated through to the wood. Overall she is in spectacular condition. She was played very little. The original Lifton leather hard shell case is in phenomenal condition. She plays like a dream. You do not find many examples of this guitar in better shape. Electronics, presets and pickups work great. If you are not familiar with the electronics here is the scoop: you have the standard Front and Back pick-up and combo of both push button selectors, then a dedicated push button for the middle pick-up only, and lastly two different two choke push buttons that are varitone sounds. To my knowledge this is the first guitar built with varitone electronics and also the first to use humbucker pick ups and the New Yorkers are awesome. She is18 1/2" wide, maple back and sides, 7 ply binding on top and back, 3 ply binding on F-holes, single bound fingerboard with 2 white lines inlaid along edges, triple bound peghead, vine peghead inlay, gold plated parts. The width of the neck at the nut is 1 and 11/16th.   Free Shipping in the Lower 48 USA only.
