Better than new copy of a vintage Martin HD 28 with Adirondack top (that Martin costs $3500 these days). The fit and finish is excellent, the mother of pearl inlays are beautiful as is the all solid rosewood. The Solid Addy top has some bearclaw figure in it, which is desirable. Most importantly the sound is great, with the wonderfully complex tone only Adirondack spruce has, this guitar is as good or better sounding than any of the Martin's I've heard, it does about everything well from hard strumming to delicate fingerstyle. It's just not as comfortable as a smaller guitar for me to play while I sit on the couch, but that's my loss and your gain:) These blue ridge guitars have a great reputation and I've seen one of the best session players in Nashville playing this model on stage. This has been my main guitar for the last three years, played almost daily but only out of the house a few times in the hard case. From 12 inches its visually perfect, if you get a little closer under bright light you can see a some very light scratches here and there, a little heavier scratches on the pick guard, but still invisible from a couple feet away. I say this guitar is better than new because it takes a while to break in an Adirondack top to sound its best, this one has been played for three years of almost daily and the sound has opened up quite a bit. Also its been set up professionally with extensive fretwork when it was new, I added real bone pins with mother of pearl inlay, and it has a wonderful low action, just high enough to strum aggressively but easy to fret, and it holds tune for weeks on end if the weather doesn't change much. The bridge is still perfect after three years, so this guitar is likely to be a great trouble free player for many years. Hate to part with this one but I've gravitated to smaller guitars as I'm mostly a couch player these days. I will ship in the pictured quality black hard shell case in a shipping box. The case is like new except for some slight scuff marks. Shipping will vary from $25 in the Midwest to $60 on the coasts. Guarantee you'll love it or you can send it back.
