I've had this one for three years now and couldn't have put more than a couple dozen hours on it (one of the tradeoffs of having little kids). So after splurging on a custom build, I can no longer justify hanging on to this one. A few superficial marks here and there. I did upgrade the original reverb tank, which was oddly thin and spacey, for a MOD 8EB2C1B tank. Big improvement. Otherwise, the amp's all original, including the stock, presumably Chinese tubes. Also for sale on Reverb (for slightly less). Vox's spiel: The Limited Edition Vox Cream Custom Series Amps features the G12M-65 Creamback speaker that has been revived by the Celestion Company, fulfilling the hopes of many guitarists. The sound of mid-60s rock has been resurrected for today’s players. The Vox Custom AC15 1x12 amp is a perfect studio pet, or a live amp in medium-volume situations. With an appearance and design that emanate an atmosphere of premium sophistication, and colour scheme that captures the heart of aficionados, custom colour models have been popular since the beginning of the VOX brand. The vintage cream is a great match with the Tygon cloth, and they’re sure to stand out on stage. These are ideal amps for any guitarist who seeks originality in their performance. An Evolution in Tone The VOX AC15C1 offers two channels; Normal and Top-Boost. Each channel is equipped with its own Volume control, and the Top Boost channel offers highly interactive Treble and Bass tone controls. This powerful channel pairing provides an abundance of tone-crafting control, letting you dial in a classic tone that is all your own. Both channels rely on the Tone Cut and Volume controls in the Master section. The Tone Cut control operates in the power stage rather than the preamp stage, allowing an additional degree of tone-shaping. The Master Volume control works in conjunction with the individual volumes of each channel to create just the right degree of gain-staging. By balancing the individual and Master volumes, the Custom Series can deliver the coveted clean VOX ""chimey"" sound or a powerful overdriven tone – and everything in between. Sound in Motion You can sweeten the sound of VOX AC15C1 by using the VOX Classic Tremolo effect. Both the speed and the depth are adjustable, making the Tremolo circuit extremely useful, allowing you to generate just the sound you want. A warm Spring Reverb is also included on all Custom Series amps, adding spaciousness to the sound. Using the Reverb and Tremolo together can create even more interesting effects. These onboard effects give the Custom Series their deep personality, and will add new dimensions of sound to your own playing. Power Sharing There is no mistaking true tube tone. The AC15C1 makes use of 3 x 12AX7 preamp tubes. A pair of EL84 tubes in the AC15C1 Limited Edition gives you 15 Watts of power. It offers a switchable 8 ‡ / 16 ‡ jack for powering an external speaker cabinet when you need to speak with a little more authority; using this jack will mute the internal speakers. The extension speaker jack allows you to run an additional 16 ‡ cabinet along with the internal speakers for a fuller sound. Green or Cream The Limited Edition Vox Cream Custom Series Amp models have a further trick-in-the-tale, featuring the Celestion Company’s latest speaker, the G12M-65 Creamback. With a higher power handling capability, it retains a tradition vintage tone but with some extra low end definition. Control Freak No doubt about it.
