Description
Brand: Slingerland

1950-53 Slingerland Radio King Snare : Blue Diamond Pearl : 5.5 x 14 Up on the block is a stunning Slingerland Radio King from the early 1950s. This drum features the very rare "Blue Diamond Pearl" wrap. This was thought to have been a a unique batch of Black Diamond Pearl that had issues with correct coloring. The diamond pearl wrap is lighter in color has has a blue hue to it. Photos of the shell without some hardware has been displayed to show that this is in fact not fading, but the elusive blue diamond. The pattern and color slightly changes at the top bearing edge.. this may have been some type of unique flaw in the wrap production. This drum was found with all of the original heads still in tact (split, so not salvageable) but it seemed as though the drum had never been taken apart. The drum is equipped with all original nickel plated hardware including a 3-point strainer, 8 beavertail streamline lugs, Radio King engraved hoops, muffler, appropriate snare gates, original tension rods and the original metal band snare strands. Brand new Aquarian American Vintage heads have been installed on the drum and float perfectly over the oversized Slingerland shell. This Radio King shell has less separation in the shell and reinforcement rings than most of this era. Only a few areas of slight separation, none of which are anything serious. Excellent drum in collector condition! Feel free to email with any questions. Shipping quote for continental US only.International Buyers - Email me for a shipping quote before purchase.
