This guitar was made in 1998 by famed luthier, R.C. Allen. Richard C. Allen made instruments for Merle Travis, Joe Maphis and Hank Thompson. He was a contemporary of Leo Fender, George Fullerton, Semie Moseley and Paul Bigsby. He got his body molds from Gretsch in the 1970s, and started making press-molded maple archtop guitars in the 1990s. This left-handed model was made for display at guitar shows, only played a few times, and was finally purchased in 2006 by a collector who stored it away in a nice, cool, safe place. Almost no wear on it at all. It comes with a deluxe hard shell case, free shipping includes insurance. I can provide a copy of Richard Allen's hand written log book to show the date it was sold originally.
