What - A - Top on this custom!  The next best part?!? It wont break your back! An Unheard of weight for a Les Paul Custom at 8lbs 10.7oz with a 60s Neck makes this a really rare bird! Most customs from this era are 10+ lbs. Some very nice, choice select woods were used on this one.Trogly's Guitars is proud to present this awesome VERY early 90's, Good-Wood Era, Les Paul Custom up for your consideration. This is the type of guitar that everyone loves to buy. The well cared for, down right sexy, Les Paul custom. This guitar has only been played but maintains a good appearance. Minor nicks and dings are present, but nothing that distracts from this guitars appearance. The 90s was a VERY good time for Gibson. After being under new ownership for a few years, the kinks of the new take over were starting to come out. The 90s brought forth some of the nicest woods that Gibson has ever used since the 50s. Many fans call the early 90s Les Paul’s to be from the “Good Wood Era.” Customs from this time period typically have explosive looking flame tops and the sound; playability and feel are all exceptional. If you’ve never had a 90s Gibson, do yourself a favor and pick this one up! The CaseThe case is original to this guitar and is the coveted - 90s brown case with pink shroud. These cases are revered as one of the best modern cases in terms of protection and functionality. This one is in used shape, but maintains a clean appearance. There are some light tears in the tolex and a few other nicks and dings, but nothing major. The Guitar! This guitar is just unbelievable. Not only does it have a stellar flame top, but it weighs only 8lbs 10.7oz while being all original! Still not light enough? Swap out the bridge and tailpiece for light weight aluminum ones and take off the pickguard to expose the flame top and you’ll be dangerously close to an 8 pound custom!!! This one is GREAT for player’s with back issues, but still want a full sized Les Paul Custom She is in great 93% original state. The only changes on this guitar are the removal of the pickup covers and the strap buttons have been swapped out. The rest of the guitar is original – including the “The Original” pickups designed by Bill Lawrence that were only used from 1988-1990. The frets and fretboard are in great shape and only show very minor wear. It looks like they were treated fairly recently for playability. The top of the guitar shows some light picking scratches. 99% of these could be polished away, but a few stray dings would still remain as seen in the video tour. The back of the guitar shows some wear in the form of buckle worming most prominently by the toggle switch cavity back plate as well as some in the middle of the guitar. There are also some decent sized impression dings on the side of the guitar. There is some slight discoloration around the tuners on the back of the headstock as well as a small chip on the treble corner of the headstock.The guitar and the case have a slight odor to them. We believe this is from a type of polished used on the guitar and the best way to describe it is like the smell of a Chinese Restraunt ~ Soy Sauce~ish smell. Not too overpowering, but it is there. Conclusion Overall, this is an awesome custom. It is the lightest custom that we have ever had in the shop EVER and I don’t think we will ever find another one this light. It is in well cared for but played condition and will surely make the working musician VERY very happy. Don’t miss this one.
