2014 Gibson ES Les Paul in Lightburst Flamed Maple TopThis is a great guitar... The ES Les Paul combins the ES-335 and Les Paul which produces a Phenomenal Guitar!  This cherry sunburst "lightburst" finish on a flamed maple top looks great! The semi-hollow body construction gives it great tone along with light weight... 6 lbs. I can't say enough about these guitars coming out of the Memphis ES facility... really fabulous. In excellent condition... with original case. Here is a review from 2014 Gear Page... It is a Les Paul shaped guitar with TOTAL ES construction. Unlike the Florentine models which are like chambered Les Pauls with F-Holes, this guitar has a similar build to an ES-335 or ES-339. Fast-forward to last night, I click I find this: Outlining the specs:
Now with f-holes, this elegant model has an AAA figured laminated maple top with spruce top bracing and a mahogany body that's weight-relieved with a mahogany centerblock. It sports a modified 1959 profile, one-piece mahogany neck and MHS unpotted alnico humbuckers. Lightweight materials have been as much as possible to make this a guitar that you'll be able to play for hours. Includes case. And one had just arrived yesterday at one of my local guitar centers, so I ran to try it as to me this guitar has a lot of potential. I played one in black today, and I would like to share my findings.
The build quality was absolutely flawless. Everything about the guitar from the finish, to the woods, to the fretowork - All really well doneThe weight was sort of unbelievable. It had to have weighed under or around 6 pounds max. I was in utter shock. The tuners were the correct color for a Kluson, just like the tuners that the Historics have been using since 2013.The neck was ACTUALLY a 50's neck. It wasn't baseball bat like an R4, but very comparable to a an R8. In fact, I played it next to an R8 and the ES-Les Paul may have had the bigger neck. The guitar was extremely resonant. Had a huge acoustic presence. The new pickups in it were not half bad. Not as good as some of the boutique offerings I own, but as good as a Gibson pickup gets IMO. The hardware was also Tone Pros, which was nice.It was overall beautiful looking. The woods on the sides and back were like a deep walnut, and the black was deep and well painted. The double bound body was very elegant looking.
Overall, it was an exquisit guitar that I am still contemplating purchasing. In my opinion, it is very well priced at $2,799 list price for the black, $2,999 for the burst. I didn't take a picture, but it was really an impressive thing to look at. It was more lively and sounded better than any ES-339 I have played or owned. While the ES-339 has that "Custom Shop" feel that this lacks, sonically and playability-wise, this was the clear winner.
