A Wheatstone 56 Key extended treble English concertina. I can't read the number but it looks to begin with 19 -which would make sense as the 19000 series has rivitted reeds-which this one does.It is a perfect candidate for restoration-and it will be done by me if not sold because it will prove very profitable. The only issue is that I have so many concertinas away for restoration-and this will have to wait for a week or two.It has rosewood ends, metal buttons, steel reeds and its original 4 fold bellows.The ends are in good condition-just needing a clean. It has four buttons missing-which can easily be replaced- and the reeds seem untouched and in good condition.It needs cleaning and the bellows repairing-they have two splits in-almost certainly caused by carelessness rather than wear. A good leather worker could easily repair the splits and make it airtight-but if I was having it restored I would put a new set of 6 fold on it -as it will be worth more with 6 fold. Obviously it needs new pads, straps, valves and being tuned to concert pitch.We do this with every concertina -and it could be done by a restorer-or a knowledgeable amateur.Restored-with new bellows-this instrument would be worth around £1500 so there is a lot of money to play with in restoring it.Postage would be £20-by courier-insured-in the U.K. It would be £60 to the States.
