For sale is the replica of Alex Lifeson’s red Stratocaster my friend and I built a couple of years ago. This replicates the guitar Alex played on the Distant Early Warning video and on the Grace Under Pressure tour (see photos).Due to the amount of research we carried out, we think this is one of, if not the most accurate version of this guitar including the 1970s shark fin headstock, Fender body, the early Floyd Rose tremolo, the mirror scratch plate, the 3-way Gibson switch and of course the Bill Lawrence L-500XL bridge pickup. In order to match the headstock colour to the candy red body we found a motorcycle paint shop who, as you can see, did a perfect job.The guitar has had a full setup by the legendary luthier Jimmy Moon of Moon Guitars in Glasgow and has only been played a handful of times. It is in immaculate condition and will be shipped in a hard case.This is a reluctant sale, I have to make some room in the house and raise some funds for a new sporting interest. I’m hoping the guitar ends up for example with a music memorabilia collector, someone in a Rush tribute band or a die hard fan like myself. As you can see I also have a replica of the white Hentor Sportscaster which I will be keeping at least for the foreseeable future.I will be putting a percentage of the sale towards the charity I understand Alex is heavily involved in, ‘Grapes Under Pressure’, so the higher the final value the better for that too.Good luck bidding, if you have any queries or need additional information please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
