Description

Absolutely stunning player and beautiful condition Epiphone Les Paul Standard. This is a relatively rare guitar in its own right, but it has been upgraded/updated with new electronics, new volume and tone pots, new switch, new wiring, new Gotoh bridge and new Grover tuners.
I had installed a set of Bare Knuckle Rebel Yell pickups in it, and they sounded monster in this axe. I am simply selling it because it was bought for a specific project that has fallen through, so I am reluctantly letting it go.This guitar is of unparalleled playability and build quality. It was built in Korea in 1996 at the Saein Musical Instrument Co. Ltd. They started building for Epiphone in 1991, and quickly became one of the premier Korean builders for Gibson. They had a small capacity of 4500 pcs./mth. and have won several quality awards from Gibson. This is superior to any Samick or Cort Epiphone LP I have ever owned.
I put this guitar up against several $5,000+ Gibson standards at a couple of stores in Chicago recently, and those seemed like toys and/or garbage compared to this instrument. I have owned many original Les Pauls over the last 30 years, and this guitar is as good as any of them, if not better.I am pricing guitar according to quality, condition, playability, upgrades and market prices. For a 20 year old guitar this almost shows as new.
No buckle rash, no damage. Back is flawless. Front has a small ding about the size of the tip of a pen.
Currently, a set of Alnico5 magnet Ibanez Axis pups is installed. It is strung with 9 gauge strings and it is almost 'too' easy to play. No HSC included.
