Vintage Gretsch Round Badge Two Piece Shell Pack 1960s Natural
Estimated price for orientation: 575 $
Category: Sets and Kits
Class:
Description Brand: Gretsch Drum Type: Acoustic Drum Kits
Recently restored 60's round badge drums - 20x14 kick, 5 ply with 30 degree bearing edges, and 16x16 floor tom, 5 ply with Gretsch's Broadkaster bearing edges. Listing does not include the supraphonic pictured in the first image. Jasper shells. Acquired these two drums a short while back and have absolutely loved them. They blend together beautifully, loads of low end punch from both. The bass drum has had quality work done and the original shell has been veneered over, and finished to match the floor tom. There are a few extremely small air pockets at the very edge of the veneer that do not affect sound in the slightest - again, extremely minor. The floor tom was originally wrapped but has been refinished to match the bass drum. The badges are both missing (although you may find these for sale online if this is important to you) and the bass drum has no aluminum paint on the interior. Bass drum hoops and hardware are all original, save for a t-rod that has been replaced, and the claws are reissue parts. The floor tom has had the hoops replaced with standard 2.3s, I believe - sounds full, deep, and open. The legs are reissue but the mounts are original. See pictures for further condition. This is a player grade vintage kit - it is by no means in perfect shape but sounds absolutely beautiful, and looks just as good. I'd compare them in sound and quality to Gretsch's Broadkaster reissues. Structurally the kit is sound, the shells are solid, and it sounds like a Gretsch kit.
