Here we have on offer a rather special custom built vintage 1960's British EMI valve pre module EQ unitHere is a track getting lots of air play at the moment on Radio One. This unit was used in the mastering process to add a bit of vintage magic! Have a listen ;)
Fully serviced and refurbished in perfect working condition. The vintage EMI module has been completely rebuilt with upgraded components throughout the circuits... over sized high grade Vishay resistors and new capacitors The valve module uses the classic British valve line up as used in the very early mixing consoles, EF86 and ECC88 as input gain and output stages. Very unique sound and character not found in any other valve EQ unitsAdd to that some very high quality Carnhill input and output transformers and you get a fully transformer balanced signal and wonderful transformer colour and to the signal chainThe EQ section is totally passive and noise free using inductor based filter circuits as found in some very early EQ style unitsThis upgraded version also has VU meters and some added gain/attenuation control. In standard mode you get approx unity gain with eq switched out or all controls at there zero settings. A very nice added feature is then a 2 way gain switch to increase gain in a 6db and 12db steps. Great to drive the valve stages a bit harder and then also a -12db output attenuation control to reduce the hot output level.
Very nice way of getting some all valve gain that might be required!
