For over 100 years Besson has been associated with some of the best made brass intruments in the world and this instrument is no exception. The instrument is a UK built Besson Sovereign 4 valve euphonium built @2000, probably the most popular professional level euphonium used in the world today. The instrument has been very well looked after and plays with a great warm and full sound, finished in a lacquer finish. This instrument has clearly been well looked after by its one and only previous owner and has had little use, it is in very good condition and has just undergone a full service.
The lacquer is 100% intact and has a very good appearence with just the odd mark or scratch, there are just the odd few very small/fine niks in the instrument (2 in the bottom bend, 1 on the leadpipe and a couple in the bell) but no big dents or dings. The instrument has had new felts and dampners fitted along with new springs and waterkey corks, we have also fitted new valve guides to the instrument, all of which gives the valves a responsive quiet action. All the slides and valves move freely and smoothly, and the instrument plays with a great tone. It is supplied in its original Besson case which is in very good condition with no damage/cracks/repairs and with a mouthpiece. A very nice example of this sought after UK built Large Bore Sovereign Euphonium which has had very little use by its previous owner (who was more of a collector of instruments rather than a dedicated player), not quite A1 perfect due to the odd few small niks but still in very good condition.
