This is a Yamaha SLB-100 electric upright bass. I have played this bass a lot in concerts and in the studio, and it has always delivered a full and realistic upright bass sound! It takes up a LOT less room than a regular upright bass, and it is lighter and easier to carry.  Besides sounding amazing in performance settings, this bass is also perfect for practicing. If you plug headphones into the bass, you will be able to clearly hear the deep upright bass tone while the bass makes very little acoustic sound. This is great if you have neighbors that you don't want to bother!  I am including the case and the the extra strings that can be seen in the pictures (the bass is currently strung with D'Addario Helicore Hybrid strings). The bass has a detachable frame that fits in the case with the bass. The bass can be played with or without the frame attached.  The bass has active electronics with volume tone controls. It has a standard quarter-inch jack and a separate eighth-inch jack for headphones. The eighth-inch headphone jack has a separate volume control.  The bass is powered by a 9-volt battery. As I mentioned, this bass has been used, and there are some signs of wear. You can see in the pictures that there is a little cosmetic wear, but I will also point out that the knob on the G tuning machine is missing. However, this hasn't been a problem for me; a quarter fits perfectly into the slot on the tuning machine, and this allows it to be turned.
