Vintage 1965 Fender Jaguar Sunburst L series Purchased from the original owner. All original finish, parts, case, no repairs or touch ups. A very nice/clean example of an early ’65. Sunburst is glossy and unfaded, There are various nicks/scratches from use. There is some belt rash on the back but nothing at all thru the finish. The lacquer on the back of the neck is glossy/clean as well with just a touch of wear. Flame maple on the headstock and neck is the nicest I’ve seen on a vintage fender. Plain “L” series neck plate without the large “F”, Brazilian rosewood board, pearlized markers, with no binding, all characteristics of an early ’65. Original frets show very little wear. Neck is straight with no evidence on either the truss rod adjusting screw or pick guard that it has been touched. The neck has never been removed and I am not in favor of doing so. I prefer to leave all of my Fenders necks attached and not take a chance chipping the lacquer around the pocket or messing up the alignment. It’s been assembled and resonating as one piece since new and I think that’s best. All pots, switches, and tuners function properly. The mute has been removed and is in the case, complete with screws (still retains the original ‘sponge’ pad)…I personally didn’t care for that function, but is easy to re-install and I’ll re-attach it at buyer’s request. Original case shows normal wear inside and out, all latches function and handle is intact.
