WHAT!! £695 starting price for a monster of tone, retro fitted with £260 worth of Seymore Duncan Antiquity 2 pickups, that's much less than half the current RRP.A true value on this guitar would be around 1K,  I must be mad starting it at this low price plus free delivery. This is a 2014 - 120th year anniversary model,  if your looking at this you already want one! so you will know all the specification on this guitar  I won't waste space repeating them.SO WHAT SETS THIS GUITAR APART FROM THE REST? - THE ANTIQUITY PICKUPS DO.The stock Gibson pickups were very harsh and "glass like" in tone giving lots of "horrible" up font attack and no real mellow sustain. The Seymore Duncan's change all this. These humbuckers are specifically designed to reproduce the early 60's tone. With a clean amp setting they produce a nice clean tone which sparkles, great for rhythm work that cuts through the mix. Change to your gain channel and the guitar becomes a monster, pure rock tone meaty gritty sustain, my Les Paul can't compete when this Firebird is being driven. The nickel pickup covers are nicely aged, so if polished chrome is your bag then this is not for you.My guitar strap has rubbed a very small area of varnish from the back edge of the guitar near the strap button other than that the guitar is blemish free. The light areas on the back (see photo) are in the grain of the wood, there is no buckle rash. These guitars are so light in weight, if you suffer from "Les Paul" back and neck all night gig problems this guitar won't give you any trouble. This comes with the Gibson fitted hard case.If you bid and win this guitar at the starting price you will have one blistering tone machine for very little money.Warning! -  not everyone has the ability to carry off the image required to play this guitar on stage, SO ONLY SERIOUS ROCK GODS should bid on this guitar!!!  if it doesn't sell I will just have to continue with my quest, I'm not quite there yet.
