THE RIGHT HAND DRUM IS MADE UP OF SHESHAM WOOD AND THE LEFT HAND LARGER DRUM IS METALLIC. THE DIAMETER OF SMALL DRUM AT THE MEMBRANE MAY RUN FROM JUST UNDER 5 INCHES TO OVER 6 INCHES APPROX AND THAT OF LARGER DRUM WILL BE FROM 9 INCHES TO 10 INCHES APPROX. BOTH DRUMS FEATURE GOAT SKIN DRUM HEADS AND CAMEL LEATHER STRAPS TO ADJUST THE PITCH. THE LARGE BLACK SPOT ON TABLA SURFACES ARE A MIXTURE OF GUM , SOOT AND IRON FILINGS .
