Description

Olivia's Vintage would like to present this 1962 Gibson Les Paul/SG Standard in its original Cherry finish that we have just obtained from the sons of the original owner. It has a very nice straight neck with great frets. It's all original and 100% complete including its original hardshell case and all of its original HANG TAGS, paperwork, original Gibson issued screwdriver, and price tag for the case. This vintage Les Paul has a very unusual 6 digit serial number that would normally place it at 1965, but it has all 1962 features including PAF pickups, nickel hardware, ABR-1 no-wire bridge, sideways Vibrola, single-line Kluson Deluxe tuners, "Les Paul" truss rod cover, and '62 pots. The nut width is 1-11/16" and the weight is 7 lbs. 1.8 oz. It's in EXCELLENT condition with only minor nicks + dings, and other comsetic wear including an area on the lower half of the back of the body where the finish has several very tiny marks in the finish. The guitar itself remains structurally sound with no cracks, breaks, or repairs. Some of the solder has been redone as it appears the pickups had been removed at one time. There is no evidence that any other pickups were ever installed on this guitar. When the channel for the wiring leading from the control cavity to the pickups was drilled at the factory, the wood above the channel must have chipped out leaving an open channel for the pickup wires. A longer screw was used for that side of the control cavity cover, but the screw no longer grips the wood as it could use a longer screw.
