A full double F/Bb French Horn, made in China, imported by Sebastian Buckley, an Aquae Sulis horn. These are sold by Amazon, as well as by other sellers. The discounted new list price is universally £899. I bought several for student players directly from Sebastian Buckley, and this one is now surplus to my requirements for a student. I am a horn collector, keen amateur player and teacher, not a dealer. These can be had online from proper dealers, of course, and from Amazon.co.uk. These horns are designed for the student, amateur and improving player. They blow very well. They are built to last the rigours of student ownership. All the better quality Chinese horns are well machined and reliable. The main body of the horn is lacquered yellow brass, with a red/rose brass bell. The bell flare is engraved with a circular motif, and "Sebastian Buckley Aquae Sulis" around it. Red/rose brass adds a warmth and roundness to the tone of a horn. There's lots about these horns online. Younger players may well respond better in the initial stages of learning when playing a brand new, shiny horn, rather than an older horn, even though that older horn may be of superior quality. These blow well, of course, but are student instruments, not professional level instruments. These are fine up to and around Grade 5 or 6, I would suggest. After that, a higher spec, pro-level horn is really the better option in my opinion. The horn comes with a case, mouthpiece, cleaning cloth and gloves and the whole thing is in a plastic inner bag within the case, from which it has never been taken. This is not a "new other" horn, it is "absolutely brand spanking new", with no qualifications required. Any inspection is welcome, of course, prior to buying, at my home in Bridlington East Yorkshire YO16 6YU. Postage by tracked Parcelforce or free collection in person. Cash on collection preferred, PayPal, Postal Orders or a cleared cheque welcome for buyers using a delivery service. UPS one-day service, fully insured for total value, tracked also offered. Parcelforce offer £100 compensation for loss/damage. With a horn of this value, I would myself choose the courier option at £28, as it offers full cover for the full value, though I have never had a horn damaged in transit by Parcelforce. I am used to shipping horns and will pack it up very carefully to avoid damage in transit. I am prepared to ship abroad, please ask for a quote before buying. I only use tracked, fully insured services, e.g. UPS, DHL etc.
