Fantastic playing Otto Link Florida era "USA" Super Tone Master tenor sax mouthpiece. This has the original facing which has never been worked on. The bite plate has been replaced sometime in the past (By Dave Guardala I believe) but the tip, rails etc are all original. This mouthpiece plays really incredibly well and has lots of projection and presence with a big, rich sound, as you might expect from a piece from this era. The fact that no one has ever had the facing worked on is because it plays really great as it is, and as some people believe the original condition ones are often the best players, if you can find one. I have played a great many vintage Links and this is definitely one of the very best ones I've found. Small font 6 stamped on the side but the tip measures .94 which is a hair less than a 6* I am only selling this because I just found an Early Babbitt model that I prefer slightly (In fact I was unsure which one to keep because they both play so well and in very similar ways, but I need some money so have decided to let this one go.) The original gold plating is largely intact, amazingly. There is a little buffer wear around the bite plate area which you can see in the pics. This is presumably from when the bite plate was replaced. Ligature, cap and box included. The ligature is not the original and actually has "A" on the screw which denotes "Alto". But it fits and works perfectly, I don't know whether it's an alto one or maybe the screw has been replaced from an alto ligature? Either way it works perfectly well and fits easily on the mouthpiece. The cap has a slight dent on the rounded edge, you can just make it out in the pic. Pompano Beach box has become a little tatty since the 1960s but is very much still intact.Any bidders with feedback less than 5 please contact me before bidding, thank you.Any questions please ask.
