Broadwood Barless Grand Piano With A Polished Ebony Case C.1910 (Restored)A magnificent John Broadwood and Sons Overstrung 'Barless' Semi Grand Piano made in London circa 1910. This stunning example of the highly regarded and much sought after barless frame model is in pristine condition and full working order having undergone a recent full restoration. High gloss polished ebony case, filigree music desk with carved Broadwood emblem, square tapered legs and twin column pedal lyre, polished brass work, soft and sustain pedals, 7 1/4 octaves A-C, 88 note immaculate keyboard, rolled steel overstrung barless frame, smooth touch and powerful tone, L 6' 8" x W 5' 1", tuned and inspected February 2017. Upon its introduction in the late 1800s, the Broadwood Barless grand was compared favourably to Steinway grands by many notable pianists and composers who praised the instruments tone as superior to the much lauded German mark. A beautiful antique grand piano and superb quality instrument by the illustrious London maker.DimensionsL 203cm x W 152cmHistoryEstablished in 1728, John Broadwood and Sons is the oldest and one of the most prestigious piano makers of all time.
