Alkire Eharp #120If you are looking for a true vintage investment qualitygreat sounding lap steel here it is.The original tuners often disintegrating are perfect.Serial #120 says it all for early production. These were first made in 1940 so figure its 77 years old.Pickup and potentiometers work perfect and sound super sweet. 100% original except for hand guard which looks as cheesy as the originals.Most of these hand guards are long cracked and gone by now as they were made out of celluloid in 1940 so no surprise there.One spot of the binding has worked loose as shown and could easily be glued.If you put alkire eharp in wikipedia you will see pics of the first ones that look just like this one so look at the hand guard on those pics to compare.This one has two antique mini knobs where most had one and another long strange lever so figure it might have been made before they even added that.I've got a lever knob very similar to those I will throw in if desired.Also will send you an original alkire round steel slide.I'm sure the mini knobs are original as they are very old.This is the only brand lap steel featuring 10 strings that allowadvanced tunings and/or the Eddie Alkire chromatic approach.If you've been playing lap slide on a 6 string guitar you'veprobably come to the conclusion you need more strings to get the chord structure necessary to get close to modern pedal steel tunings allowing a turning bar approach the achieve the pedal pulls.Original hard case will be included.Case is fully functional and has one small trim piece coming unstitched.It could be easily glued down if it matters to you.The rear cover (which is wood also) has minimal felt wear compared to many which have hardly any felt left at all due to being where the body sits or rides on your stand or leg These first ones are much harder to find than the later ones made out of more plastic and MOP. They are a more solid wood body which I'm sure lends to their superior tone. I don't think you will find one any cleaner anywhere with a serial number anywhere near this low.Check my feedback not only do we give great deals on super rare itemsbut we know how to pack fragile items to arrive with no problems.You can get more money but you won't get another one like this!Foreign buyers will have to pay actual $hipping of course.
