Up for auction. A 1967 Gretsch Country Gentlemen serial number 107983. Color is black with gold hardware. This guitar is 100% original from top to bottom no exceptions. This guitar belonged to my father. He purchased it off the original owner somewhere around 1969-70. He had owned this guitar as long as I can remember. As I stated above this guitar, pick-ups, tuners, switches, and everything else is original he never changed anything. I am a drummer and have a limited guitar knowledge. With that said I took this Gretsch down to the local guitar shop to have it re strung and gone over for function. It came back to me with a clean bill of health. All the switches and knobs work as they should. The black finish is in fair condition. The gold hardware is in poor condition and in need of restoration. When it comes to the binding I will let you make your own decision based on the pictures. As I stated this is original. I have been told told that the binding is an issue on Gretsch guitars from this era. Also one of the felts on the double mute is missing and the other one looks rough. The original hard shell case is in decent shape for its age. No breaks or holes. But it is missing the pull tab on the interior compartment and it does not come with a key. This guitar is a player not a museum piece. Please look at my feedback as a seller. I am listing this as a no reserve auction so it will go to the highest bidder period. Winning US bidders to pay $40.00 to help cover shipping costs. Bidders outside of the US are welcome but shipping costs will be quoted on a case by case basis. Please, if you have any questions contact me prior to bidding. I will do my best to get back to you promptly. |
