This in a very rare opportunity to acquire this beautiful vintage Sakazo Nakade flamenco guitar, which I believe was built in the early 1960's. Sakazo Nakade is one of the most revered Japanese luthiers in history, some consider him to be the father of Japanese guitar making. This particular guitar features a high grade, tightly grained, solid spruce soundboard, lightly braced with 7 fan braces and very beautiful solid flamed maple back and sides, with a rosewood fretboard and bridge. It is very lightly built and weighs about 1300g. The scale length is 646mm and the nut width is 50mm. This beautiful guitar produces crystal clear trebles, rich and resonant basses, all well-balanced with short sustain and at high volume. It is very responsive and offers excellent note separation. The tone is sweet and bright. This guitar is well over fifty years old and, as such has had a couple of repairs in the past, the most significant of which is a neck reset and reinforcement. The bridge has been lowered and the guitar has been refinished. The luthier who did the repairs has added his own label. There is also an old repaired crack on the soundboard. Playability is excellent with an action of 3mm at the 12th fret low E. The neck is very slim and comfortable to play. Recently restrung with Aranjuez Spanish silver strings which have a very authentic flamenco sound. Comes with nearly new Tanglewood hard case. I will also include a spare top E string and a spare saddle. You are welcome to come and play the guitar. Available for collection from Newcastle under Lyme in Staffordshire, or I will post via Parcelforce 48.
