This 2016 Jimmy Page Les Paul was built out in March 2016 by the Gibson Custom Shop Nashville and is a very rare Made 2 Measure special custom ordered one off by a dealer in Japan featuring a fiddle back wavy 3D authentic carved top hand picked by Edwin Wilson. You can actually see how deep the top is carved in photo 7 how the deep carve goes all the way around the body. Gibson has always done special runs of artists guitars for the top dealers in Japan only and this is a prime example. This guitar was ordered with an authentic carved top (true to a 50’s Les Paul), Jimmy Page slim taper neck profile, metal jack plate, 2 push pull pots to split the coils, exposed treble pickup, and the Jimmy Page replica Ace poinsettia guitar strap that Jimmy used back in the Led Zeppelin daze. The fiddle back flamed Maple top was hand selected by Edwin Wilson, Program Director at Gibson Custom. It comes with a special “Hand Selected” brochure that states the top was hand selected by Edwin Wilson for this guitar and shows Edwin picking out the top. The top is heavily carved and has a gorgeous huge fiddle back flamed Maple top and goes from side to side, front to back with no dead spots in a custom color called (NOSF) New orange Sunset fade is just killer. I have never seen any reissue Les Paul with a top carved more true to a real vintage 50’s Les Paul and I have had hundreds of them. The guitar plays incredible with its slim taper fast action neck and is very loud unplugged. You can find any sweet spot from classic rock humbucker tones to chimey single coil tones and everything in between. The hand picked top by Edwin Wilson and custom color is spot on to Jimmy Page’s #1 Les Paul guitar. The dealer wanted a color as close as possible to the Jimmy Page 59 #1 Les Paul (not the reissue but Page’s real guitar) and this is what Edwin Wilson came up with. However they could not call it Page Burst due to contractual obligations so they called it New Orange Sunset Fade and gave it a 58 serial number. This guitar was painted by Mickey McGuire at Gibson Custom Nashville and his paint work is just absolutely stunning and its one killer color. This guitar can not be ordered by dealers in the USA due to contractual obligations and is for export only. This guitar is identical in specs to that of the Jimmy Page Number 1 Les Paul made back in 2004 only better because it has all the new 2016 upgraded specs. It has the slim taper Jimmy Page neck profile, two push/pull pots to split the pickup coils, Grover tuners and the metal jack plate just like Jimmy’s guitar. The 2016 specs includes the updated truss rod route with no tubing, finger board glued to the neck using hot hide glue, and the neck glued to the body using hot hide glue. In all aspects this guitar is much better than the Jimmy Page Les Paul from 2004 because it has all the new 2016 upgraded specs. The only difference between the specs of this guitar and a True Historic are the plastics. If you are a Jimmy Page fan than this is the one for you. The guitar is in as new mint unplayed condition and includes the certificate of authenticity, all hang tags and paperwork, extra pickup cover, special Edwin Wilson “Hand Selected” brochure, original shipping carton, and includes a replica of Jimmy Page’s Red poinsettia Ace guitar strap in the rare red and black poinsettia pattern. This guitar can not be ordered by dealers in the USA due to contractual obligations and is for export only.
