This guitar was ordered with '57 gold plated fender hardware, custom maple cap neck and custom color in 1963. Rare and Beautiful Custom Fender Stratocaster Custom ordered 1963 with the following features: A) All Gold Plated 1957 Hardware B) Two piece Maple Cap Neck – June 62 C) Custom Color finish D) The body and electronics all are dated 1963, the pick guard, knobs, pkup covers and switch tip are all 1963. ‘57 gold hardware – single line tuners, pat pend bridge saddles, all the hardware is worn naturally and has it’s original gold plating, the gold neck plate even has a 1957 serial number. The neck is dated June 62 and being a maple cap was a special order in ‘62 because Stratocasters were fitted with rosewood fret board. All the pots, are exact matched 1963 including 5/63 body date in tremolo cavity. Think of it this way Leo didn’t stop production to have the hardware gold plated and make a maple cap neck for one custom ordered Stratocaster but used what was made in batches previously. That said, this is an extremely rare and fantastic Fender Stratocaster. The starting price is way less than what you would get if you sold the parts separately. Pencil it out for yourself but to separate the parts you would destroy the true rarity and cool factor of this guitar but it is still more than the asking price. All the parts on this guitar are original - with exception of the tremolo arm and one tuner clipped - are all original, what is not is the finish - it is a 20+ year nitro refin and neck re-fret with correct wire. It still retains original spaghetti logo. As market has proved over and over again, the value only goes up on these vintage fenders each year and this one is no exception.
