1959 Guyatone Regent EG 70B Tuxedo Extremely Rare Early Model Japan MIJ LG 60Amazingly rare REGENT branded Guyatone electric guitar. These are very hard to come by. This is one of the very first Japanese electric guitars made for the international market. I believe Regent was branded for the Canadian market.Guitar is pre-owned and will show signs of use and general wear. The fret marker inlays are mostly gone although you can barely tell by the feel of it as they are about as thin as a piece of duct tape and may have originally been stickers themselves. The tailpiece and bridge are not original and serve to keep the guitar strung and playable as is although the intonation is off. The bridge is a vintage Teisco bridge that I had in my parts drawer but the intonation is off because the bridge needs to be set back further from the neck. A previous owner had screwed in the tailpiece and it seems like it could work if it were moved back a bit to allow the bridge to be brought back.Everything else appears original. The pickups sound fantastic and all controls work as they should. The guitar has a nice clean sound and the pickups are bright and full sounding and also seem to be high output. The pickup surrounds have seen some wear and the bridge surround is partly missing. The neck is straight and the headstock is incredible with its elongated "strat-like" form and REGENT font. Nut width is appx 1 3/4" across. Frets have some life left in them. I would describe the neck as a chunky "C" profile. These guitars are highly prized and very hard to come by. Selling before I start modifying and become too attached. Selling as is.International buyers are responsible for any taxes, duties, fees etc. Here is a video demo of this guitar. I am a lefty playing the right handed guitar upside down. It is strung as intended for right handed players. > > >
