There are no dings or chips very faint surface scratches on the front which can be easily buffed out if so inclined. This was the last year that Gibson used Ebony on the Custom fretboards and the fit and finish of this guitar from the factory was excellent. This guitar comes with a very rare white Gibson case with black guitar cover attached as well, plus the Gibson Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity. An all around great guitar that works for rock, metal, blues and Jazz. I personally bought it to play Randy's songs through my EVH 5150 III and it is truly a very versatile guitar.
