Description
Country/Region of Manufacture: United Kingdom

Gorgeous set of mid-1970s Hallmarked sterling silver and natural mount bagpipes. Made by Hardie.  Of all the vintage bagpipes that I have bought over the years, this is the nicest looking set I have ever come across. I bought them from the son of the original owner. The original owner rarely played them. When he did, it was at his house only. He never belonged to a band, according to the son.  There are no visible signs of having been played much. The usual places that would show signs of use are shiny like new. Every piece of wood is shiny and there are no cracks, chips or scratches.. The natural mounts are perfect with no cracks, blemishes or chips. The silver is hallmarked sterling silver.   RGN anchor lion X. All hallmarks match. See pictures. I did not shine the silver. This is how I received the pipes.  This set has the original blowpipe with a plastic Warmack chanter, Cain drone reeds, silk drone cords and a bag cover. It has a medium zippered Canmore bag. I never played this set.   The natural mounts are on the projecting mounts and the rings of the drone caps. The hemp stoppers are made of orange plastic. This is common for Hardie bagpipes of this era.  This is a high-quality vintage bagpipe in like-new condition. This set could be played at any competitive level. I know you would not be disappointed having this set on your shoulder. No reserve. Silver with imitation ivory cost this much. These are the real deal classic set with natural mounts.  Good luck.
