The Taylor 600 series brings the historically bright tone of Maple into a richer, warmer, and more complex voice. With the 612e, Taylor has updated the Sitka Spruce Top by using torrefaction, a roasting process that offers better resonance and responsiveness and provides a slightly darker, Cedar-like complexion. A new customized bracing scheme brings out new dimensions which produce enhanced warmth, balance, and sustain, while the Maple-specific bracing profile for the backs enhance responsiveness. The 12-fret construction only adds to the warmth, with a small-body tone that has to be heard to be believed. Cosmetically, this 612 offers a special hand-rubbed Brown Sugar stain on the back and sides, giving it a rich, vintage look without adding extra thickness to the finish. The Abalone rosette is edge with Ebony, and is beautifully complemented by a Striped Ebony pickguard.
