This is a Left Handed, Taylor Acoustic Electric, Grand Auditorium (GA) body style, 2014 updated version. I purchased this guitar online from The Music Zoo and I paid $2,700 for it. The guitar is in excellent condition and plays and sounds fantastic! I have read and hear a lot of hype about the modifications/improvements Taylor had made on this model and never thought much about it until I played this baby. It's light weight and sound energy is different than anything I have ever played. It is also very versatile and does well with any playing style, genre of music, plugged in or unplugged. So why would I give it up? I am a high school teacher and I lead an after school guitar club. This guitar is not practical for me to lug around and have kids play on it. My wife is also upset with how much I spent for it. Taylor’s popular 814ce offers players the ultimate all-purpose guitar. Its balance, warmth and articulation are great for fingerstyle, it has enough punch as a strummer to front a band, and the top-end power will fuel lead runs without getting shrill. It’s agreat choice for a gigging player looking for one guitar that can cover it all. The revoicing of the 800 Series has brought greater warmth, a more mature midrange, and a looser, more luxurious low end to the 814ce, thanks in part to the customized bracing and a new, custom-calibrated Elixir HD Light string-gauge set. Premium appointments include maple binding and back strip, rosewood top edge trim, a rosewood pickguard, Taylor’s new Element fretboard inlay in mother-of-pearl, a marbled fretboard, and new Expression System 2 acoustic electronics.
