Alhambra Guitars Over the years Alhambra guitars have become the go-to brand when looking for a quality Spanish guitar. The success of Alhambra products is down to Alhambra's long and involved history in the guitar manufacturing business. With this comes accumulated expertise which has allowed the company to deliver products of unbeatable quality. Alhambra Guitar History The company 'Manufactures Alhambra, S.A' or Alhambra Guitars as they are now commonly known, was officially founded in 1965. Before 1965 they had been operating under the name of 'Manufactures Hachi'. After their name change, and bringing new shareholders on board, Alhambra Guitars began to grow rapidly, soon picking up a reputation for both build and sound quality. Modern Alhambra Alhambra today is one of the world's finest makers of classical acoustic guitars. The company has grown and diversified whilst retaining their original principles, delivering great quality and great sounding instruments. The Alhambra Guitars head office is still located in the town in which the company was first set up, Muro de Alcoy, Spain. Another branch of Alhambra exists in the United States, this half of the company focuses primarily on the American Market, with their office located in North Carolina. Alhambra Guitars and the Environment Today Alhambra Guitars are recognised as an incredibly environmentally conscious company. The selection of wood for the construction of each guitar is sourced only from suppliers who have an active and effective environmental policy in place. Reforestation is a prerequisite for any company wishing to supply Alhambra with materials. Alhambra goes further in their appreciation of wood as a material, and makes a point of not wasting wood where possible. Alhambra Guitars are cut from their parent wood in the most optimum way, minimising off-cuts. Any dust or surplus wood that is created is manufactured into wooden briquettes. These briquettes are often then used by Alhambra to heat their buildings and premises during the colder months.
