Maton EBG808 We cannot overstate the power and the punch of the Maton EBG808 Series. Within the smaller shape lies a mighty bass response and a focused projection, ideally suited for the recording studio. Since 1978, the 808 series has stood the test of time and is now available in several different tone-wood configurations. The EBG808 has a soundboard of "AA" grade solid sitka spruce, solid Blackwood back and sides, and a neck of select Queensland Maple. The bridge is Rosewood, as is the fingerboard. The EBG808 model is easily recognised by its Blackwood Veneer keyhole headstock and its satin finish. Additionally, this instrument is equipped with the AP5 Pickup. Using the ‘Sweepable Mid’ controls. Midrange is sweepable from 1 to 2khz and can be cut or boosted within this range. As a general rule for the system should start out ‘flat’ then be altered to achieve the tone desires. For example, an open, natural sound can be achieved by setting the frequency control at 1.4khz and the boost/cut control at 5db. Alternatively, for a ‘thick’ lead sound boost your mids by 5db and set the frequency dial at 1.7kh This Maton EBG808 is in excellent condition with a few minor surface scratches on the pickgurard and top, as well as a crack at the end jack which has been repaired.
